The Board discussed the current mission and operations of the Foundation in providing an equine therapy program to disabled children. The Board discussed that since working with these programs the directors have realized how much insurance, other expenses and volunteers are needed to run an equine therapy program. In addition, the Board discussed that there are two well established facilities in the area offering equine therapy programs and the need for an additional facility is limited. The Board further discussed, that the equine therapy programs can use only horses which are specifically trained for such purpose and that these horses are in short supply. Consequently, the Board determined that it is in the best interest of the Foundation to CHANGE IT'S MISSION AND OPERATIONS from operating an equine therapy program for disabled children to operating a horse rescue that will train and rehabilitate horses for such programs.
