Dash and scout is a special needs collective for adults with down syndrome and other varying abilities seeking a meaningful, more independent path. the dash and scout concept is unique to virginia and boasts a series of hands-on programs designed to increase their independence. these programs allow adults with intellectual disabilities to come together for overnight multi-day retreats to experience independent living in an environment customized for individual participants. the experience also allows each family to be a partner in ensuring there is a strong focus on individual goals, growth and progress tracking. this, in turn, helps the participants discover how to create a "life recipe" for greater independence though day and weekend programs.
