Chris Jespersen Memorial Society For Handicapped Children
To raise money in support of all children with severe special needs who are enrolled in special education programs administered by the san luis obispo county office of education whose disabilities range from communication, vision and hearing impairments to the most severe mental and physical disabilities. all work is performed by parent, teacher and community volunteers. the society has provided adaptive swings, vcr's, an adapted playground, and adaptive bikes to education classes and continues to grant funds to teachers to fill these types of needs. the society also funds enrichment activities such as field trips to see the monarch butterflies, performances at cal poly theatre and an annual graduation ceremony. more than 55 students from age 3 to 21 are being served in classrooms on public school campuses in our county.
