Electrical Industry Service Corporation

The corporation is a nonprofit organization created in 1989 by the northern california chapter of the national electrical contractors association (the "chapter") and international brotherhood of electrical workers local union 595 ("local 595"). the corporation is dedicated to the improvement of business conditions and higher efficiencies in the electrical industry, the promotion of a productive and stable work force and better employment conditions and is organized to carry out the betterment of the conditions of workers in the electrical industry. the chapter and local 595 are signatories to a series of collective bargaining agreements which set forth terms and conditions of employment for electrical industry employees. under those agreements, employers are obligated to make contributions to various fringe benefit plans on behalf of employees. the corporation provides assistance as the custodian of these fringe benefits by receiving, allocating and accounting for contributions by employers to the benefit plans. the corporation also offers collection assistance in the event a contributing employer is delinquent in its required payments or contributions to the benefit plans as required by collective bargaining agreements. in addition, the corporation maintains an on-going employer payroll compliance program to facilitate uniformity in the reporting of employer contributions to the benefit plans.
