Form 990-ez part iii- primary exempt purposeperformance works northwest advances the performing arts of the pacific northwest, engaging artists and audiences fully in the process of experimentation, creation and dialog around the presentation of contemporary performance.As an artist-run incubator for contemporary performance, pwnw simultaneously nurtures local artists and provides opportunities for portland audiences and artists to engage with nationally recognized performers and their work. based since 2000 in its s.E. portland home, pwnw is distinct in encompassing a range of performance styles, genres, and interdisciplinary approaches. form 990-ez part iii line 28i. alembic artist programs: five artists were presented in a series of 4 summer performances in july and august 2021, with limited live audience because of covid. each performance was also live-streamed. four new artists began their residency at performance works in january 2022 and are currently creating new work in our studio.Ii. linda austin dance: artistic director linda austin presented a series of 9 solo performances, one of which was live-streamed, at performance works in october and november 2021. iii. space rental and public access performances: in addition to our resident artists, about 25 individual artists or artist groups rehearsed at the performance works space in the last fiscal year, with charges for many of the rehearsal hours waived. we have also hosted 4 different groups who, among them, presented 8 evenings of live performance, through our public access program.
