The west allis training kennel club was originally organized and continues to be operated for the purpose of enabling club members to further the education and training of hunting dogs including retrievers and flushing dogs used in upland and other bird hunting, to increase owners' handling skills and understanding of their dogs, to promote good fellowship between participants thereof by sharing common experiences and knowledge, and to increase the interest in the sport of hunting with shotguns and "bird dogs". as part of its affiliation with the american kennel club, the watkc also conducts field trials and hunt tests at which some of the members participate directly while others volunteer their time and efforts. non members may participate in the field trials and hunt tests. in this application, the west allis training kennel club is referred to by its full name, the the initials "watkc and/or as the "club".
