Part iii - summary of mission - aipl is a nonprofit arizona corporation whose mission is to provide education for citizens on aspects of effective leadership as well as participation in public forums and civic organizations. part iii line 28 continued: this training includes relationship building, developing organizational ability, planning and implementing development strategies, conducting research and group problem solving. the institute initiates and creates materials for training and education of citizens, enabling them to manage programs for the improvement of their lifestyles, the betterment of their communities, and the shaping of public life.Recent highlights 2017-2018policy research: aipl conducts research into key policies affecting arizona families. aipl tracks bills in the state legislature as a basis for the education of community leaders on the impacts of legislative decisions, as well as facilitates research meetings with key public officials. institutes of public life: aipl has collaborated on training sessions on the economy, focusing on the historic basis for the slow recovery of the state budget and the resulting drain on state services such as education, prison re-entry programs and critical safety net services for arizona families.Immigrant integration: throughout the state, aipl leaders held civic academies and leadership trainings on issues around deferred action for childhood arrivals and safety concerns for immigrant families. predatory lending: aipl explored the dangers of predatory lending, engaging with its membership on the impact of these loan products on the most vulnerable arizonans.Education and workforce: aipl leaders advanced workforce training strategies in the states metro areas. aipl leaders built relationships with private and public-sector decision-makers to secure support and expand opportunities for funding of workforce strategy programs. healthcare: aipl held civic academies around the state on the impact of the affordable care act and medicaid programs on arizona families, and understanding the proposed changes in congress.Leadership training: at local leader trainings and retreats, aipl invested in the capacity of ain/aipl leaders. training focused on preparing leaders to lead presentations, house meetings, do research and propose strategies that addressed healthcare issues, public education funding and other local issues of concern.
