Sappy moffitt field foundation inc exists to establish and maintain a baseball field -- "foundry field" -- at the publicly-owned southeast park in south bend, indiana. a portion of the park originally designated for a baseball facility was never completed and we are partnering with local government and community organizations to establish a field for public use. the specific purposes of the organization are to: build and maintain a high-quality baseball field in an under-utilized segment of southeast park for the use of the general public; work with community organizations to provide programming for local youth; make a unique cultural and artistic contribution through field design and culturally-rich public art; and preserve, promote, and engage baseball's cultural impact in the south bend area through displays, design elements, and programming at the field.
