Mission statement:corazn promotes and celebrates the cultural diversity of mexico through ballet folklrico dance performance by building a community of passionate dancers throughout the dmv area. our mission is to create a space where anyone can participate in the joy and art of ballet folklrico. program accomplishments:the dance company achieved their mission by offering fall and spring semester dance classes to students (ages 14-54) of all backgrounds and skill levels. corazon collaborated with community-based organizations on presenting exciting dance performances at events throughout the year such as at the dc mayors office on latino affairs cinco de mayo festival and the smithsonian portrait gallery hispanic heritage celebration. in 2023 corazon presented its annual showcase at a local dc theatre for the general public to enjoy. this family-friendly show was an original 90-minute evening show at the gala hispanic theatre that seats 250 people, had two sold out shows, presented a cast of 36 dancers, and was the first mexican folkloric holiday themed show produced by corazon.
