Form 990-ez, part iii, line 28 - back to school bookbag drive the annual successteam back to school bookbag drive provides over 1,000+ backpacks and school supplies to students, grades k-12 with the sole purpose of allowing our young leaders to worry less about school supplies and more about their grades! students receive new, unused supplies including backpacks, pencils, notebooks, binders, paper, book covers, calculators, rulers, crayons, colored pencils, dividers, and more! in cohesion with the supply drive, a community resource fair is provided inviting 15+ vendors including educational tutors, civic & volunteer groups, afterschool programs, colleges & universities, school districts, charter schools, local businesses, and sports clubs. form 990-ez, part iii, line 29 - night of champions night of champions is our fundraising gala presented as an evening of excellence with the purpose of highlighting community leaders through award recognition and scholars for academic success. hosted as a formal black-tie affair, the event features a full-course meal, scholar showcase, live! entertainment, networking, and the highly anticipated community leadership awards. hosted annually; awards include man of the year, woman of the year, scholar of the year, and educator of the year award. form 990-ez, part iii, line 30 - successteam leadership academy successteam leadership academy is a multi-day overnight youth development conference hosted on a college campus. sla empowers and equips members of successteam youth council between the ages of 14 ??? 18 in grades 9th ??? 12th. sla focuses on member orientation, leadership development, teambuilding, and the importance of education highlighting the following topics: civic engagement, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, workforce development, soft skills, life skills, public speaking, how to succeed in athletics, and more! throughout sla, successteam youth council members elect their exec team with positions including president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and outreach coordinator.
