The port neches-groves educational foundation has established to increase the quality of education for all students and teachers from kindergarten to twelfth grade. the funds collected will be spent on academic projects for which tax dollars are not available. contribitors from the public will provide an endowment with the interest providing the grants to teachers and students. the organization will award grants to teachers and students district-wide who have ideas that require funding which is not budgeted. grant requests are submitted by mail in a blind application to the grant awards committee. these requests are judged on five criteria on a ten-point grading scale. the scores are then tallied and the higher scores are rewarded the amounts requested. the foundation has made it possible for teachers to enhance their lessons with various learning centers focusing on such areas as math, science, and reading. hands-on science materials, lab materials have all been provided to increase t
