Soh is a year-round, supplemental academic program whose mission is to enrich the education of promising, low-income public school students from the bronx, washington heights, and harlem, prepare them for selective schools and colleges, and offer guidance to their parents. soh is unique among nyc enrichment programs in enrolling promising 3rd grade students and working with them through high school graudation. although housed on the campus of the horace mann school with access to its facilities, soh is an indepdendent 501(c)(3) organization that raises its own funds to operate a high-quality program. each year, more than 200 families of 2nd graders apply for one of 40 seats. the number of applications demostrates a great unmet need for enrichment programs in our target areas.
