Fyo's mission is to educate, inspire and build the self-esteem of musically gifted and at-risk students to become productive, caring and responsible adults and to uplift south florida's diverse community with quality music performances. fyo is the "youth orchestra in residence" at nova southeastern university and the only site in florida to host annual live auditions for the tanglewood institute. boston symphony orchestra. annual music education programs, include weekly rehearsals/coaching of seven (7) youth orchestra divisions and six (6) chamber ensemble groups; community outreach through more than 40 outreach performances including main stage, chamber music ensembles and performances for young children and seniors; and music steps (students transformed through education and performance skills) providing free music lessons, instruments, and recitals, year round, to at-risk and economically disadvantaged children in 13 title i schools, social service agency, and community center durin
