To organize, coordinate and harmonize into unions all workers engaged in building and construction and related maintenance and preparation of construction materials and components. to assist and support the working central bodies known as local building and construction trades councils by regular communication, consultation and recommendation. to preserve the building and construction industry inviolate from the disastrous results of foreign interferences and entangling alliances. to aid and assist affiliated local unions and local building and contruction trades councils so that we may present a solid phalanx against injustice. to assist in having the hours of labor shortened according to displacements caused by the introduction of improved methods of production, distribution and construction. to engage in legislative activity for the promotion and protection of the interests of building and construction trades councils and of all workers in all crafts in the construction industry
