Peace for lebanon, inc. was born and remains a cry for help from a country and a people whose contributions to the advancement of mankind throughout the ages, are unparalleled. lebanon, a tiny country of four million descendants of the phoenicians, who pioneered sailing and trading around the world, and to whom the western world owes its alphabet, is today unable to feed or educate its own. for us, americans of lebanese ancestry, the thought of our homeland is a heartbreak, as we saw the once called switzerland of the middle-east turn into rubbles, in a lengthy civil war, while its population is desperately seeking a safe haven around the globe. so, it is out of a sense of duty and reciprocity that we will keep our proud heritage alive through community activities in the u.S., while extending a helping hand to a good land in its time of need, in the very field where it advanced humanity: that of the alphabet. we will not allow lebanon to be the country of illiteracy. we will support sc
