Easy Does It Ranch
The easy does it ranch held three summer sessions at 6085 cluster springs rd., alton virginia, 24520. 33 teenagers from al-ateen groups in raleigh nc, cary nc, wilmington nc, winston salem nc, greenville nc and fredericksburg va attended. During each week long session the teens went on two 2 hour trail rides each day, attended 2 twelve step meetings during the day and a speaker meeting at night around the campfire. Speakers were chosen from the campers attending that week.they also worked various ranch chores each day including but not limited to feeding the horses and cows, mucking stalls, gathering fire wood, grooming and tacking horses for the days rides. Preparing daily meals around the chuck wagon. Our expectations and goals were met and exceeded in 2009. 33 teens is the most we have had since the ranch has been in operation. I was one on the best we have had in spite of weather related problems.
