To promote the well being and betterment of the community by making individuals more self sufficient, improve community involvement, and involve job opportunities through education by establishing partnerships with other 501(c)(3) organizations, such as literacy volunteers of america, inc., and cornell cooperative extension, and providing space and materials to enable such organizations to carry out their not for profit corporate purposes, including but not limited to providing programs on credit counseling, reading and writing, and obtaining raduate equivalency diplomas, to combat possible delinquency through programs for the boys and girls of the poughkeepsie housing authority and the neighboring community including athletics, sport, cultural and other wholesome activities in their free hours from school and assuring that adequate supervision and guidance may be proffered to them.
