The purpose is the serving citizenry of the nation by promoting a better understanding of the objectives, accomplishments, and needs of the schools of the united states. the association accomplishes its purposes: (1) by developing materials that assist the schools of the nation in building both an increased public understanding of the role of education and an increased awareness, knowledge, and understanding of current management practices and educational developments; (2) by placing before the public facts and viewpoints which will lead to a better understanding, appreciation, and support of their schools; and (3) by encouraging the use of sound public relations procedures by all those at work in the schools of the united states.
