American friends of the czech republic (afocr) is the voice of the american community supporting close & strong czech-u.S. relations. we advocate for the czechs as a bulwark of freedom & democracy in central europe, a region vital to u.S. interests. we foster ties in the areas of diplomacy, governmental affairs, business, security, & education. afocr was founded to advocate for czech admission into the north atlantic treaty organization. since 1995, we have worked to:- sponsor visiting czech parliamentarians to shadow members of the u.S. congress & meet with u.S. government officials- help build & engage the czech caucus in the u.S. congress & offer to conduct briefings for congress & the state department- meet with officials in the czech republic to foster cooperation & understanding- cooperate & partner with the embassy of the czech republic to the u.S. to conduct educational & commemorative events- host lectures & seminars with u.S. & czech political & academic leaders
