District of Columbia Cancer Consortium
The DC Cancer Consortium, a collaborative of more than seventy organizations in the District of Columbia working to reduce cancer incidence and mortality, has undertaken efforts to reduce the burden of cancer-related death and disease in the District of Columbia. The Cancer Consortium's goal is to implement the DC Cancer Control Plan in the context of the centers for disease and prevention's framework for science-based comprehensive cancer control. Tasks to be performed to implement the workplan by priorities are as follow A) increase access to cancer care for DC residents B) improve early detection breast, cervical, colorectal and prostate cancers C) improve outcomes on gynecologic cancers D) increase awareness and availability of palliative care and end-of-life care E) improve collection and use of data F) conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the DC Cancer Control Workplan.
