The mission of the organization is to operate a small, high-performance school that will prepare all students to graduate and enter college and succeed in math and science. mass provides a rigorous, project-based, early-college program that will educate an ethnically and demographically diverse cross-section of high school students in four areas: 1. specific science and math skills for competence and employability in the sciences 2. college-preparatory academic skills necessary to enter top colleges and universities 3. "post-industrial" skills needed in today's workplaces, including small-group initiative and self-management, teamwork and use of other technologies, and 4. leadership skills, particularly important in large-scale scientific endeavors, such as the creativity, initiative and scientific teamwork required on many nasa, army corps of engineers, stem cell research and high-energy physics projects. although the entity has been dissolved as of 12/31/2019, all activity for the school will now be included on alliance college-ready public schools, formerly known as alliance marine - innovation and technology 6-12 complex (ein: 47-2892698), form 990 going forward.
