The new york industrial retention network seeks to enhance the economy of the city of new york, to expand decent employment opportunities for new york city residents and to promote sustainable communities by maintaining and strengthning new york city's manufacturing and industrial base. It does so by mobilizing an extraordinarily diverse pool of stakeholders to identify firms that are at-risk and to provide comprehensive strategies to assist those firms. The stakeholders include parties with an interest, direct and indirect, existing and contingent in the well-being of individual manufacturing companies as well as the manufacturing sector. The parties may include local development corporations and other community-based organizations, trade associations and labor unions, business advisors and government agencies, management and workers, utilities, bank and other investors.
