Form 990-ez, part iii - primary exempt purpose.We help create job opportunities for those escaping exploitative situations in nepal, italy, india and the usa. we also seek to prevent future exploitation by employing those whose marginalized status in society hinders them from finding work elsewhere. we offer training and jobs through our partnerships that provide dignity and a hopeful future for those existing on the fringes of society. each day, in everything we do, we work towards our goal of creating ethical, dignified and meaningful jobs. its not just aobut really good clothing but knowing and loving the people who make our products. form 990-ez, part iii, line 28 - first accomplishment.We currently have talented artisans in nepal sewing for the girl set free collection. we also source cotton from a mill located in kolkata, india that currently employs over 700 workers. many of them are marginalized women that are given life changing opportunities through this program. we have also launched a micro-enterprise initiative in bologna, italy for survivors of human trafficking to learn the art of hand turning pens as well as learning to make custom leather hand bags for the gsf collection. lastly, we are working with a large group of nepalese refugees in akron, ohio. we are developing breed-specific yarns from several farms in hartville, ohio.
