49 strong is a nonprofit agency providing anti violence services, mentoring, fatherhood mentoring, mediation, wellness services and art programs for young teens to adults in the staten island, new york area. with the intention of curbing violence and improving the way of life in local neighborhoods. implementing curriculums that are transformative and develops positive decision making choices. the program will form partnerships with local schools, juvenile and/or court systems, local police, hospitals, and grassroots organizations. . 49 strong's goal is to foster a commitment to young people and adults, that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future of our community. only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that will give the people serviced by 49 strong the commitment to follow through on a path to a safer environment with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
