Cmdc's mission is to awaken and activate the creative, intuitive power of the heart through dance/movement for healing and wellness in mind, body and spirit. cmdc works mainly with bipoc cis/trans girls, women and non-binary individuals in low-income communities throughout los angeles. over 75 of our participants identify as latinx, and are immigrants or the children of immigrants. our programs serve youth 16+ and adults of any age. cmdc fulfills its mission in four main ways: 1 survivor empowerment program: we partner with local nonprofits that serve sexual or domestic violence survivors to provide 6-12 week dance from the heart programs. 2 teen empowerment program: we partner with local nonprofits to provide 6-12 week dance from the heart programs for teens and young adults ages 16-25. 3 dance from the heart virtual classes and workshops: open to the public and offered at low cost online 4 teacher trainings: offered throughout the year to train new dance from the heart teachers cmdc'
