Currently comprised of over 130 member organizations, the organization joins together mental health and addiction agencies serving both children and adults, health and human services agencies, the faith-based community, government and advocacy organizations, major medical institutions, and the corporate arena. the organization accomplishes its mission by: - fostering education and awareness of behavioral health issues - advocating for public policies and strategies that support effective, well-funded services, systems and supports for those in need, resulting in stronger ohio communities. - providing a unique forum for member organizations to share experiences, needs and expectations of the behavioral health system, to set priorities and an agenda for change, and to speak with one voice on the public policies and funding issues that impact mental health and addiction issues. the organization has worked with partners across the state to increase the knowledge of public officials and the general community about mental health and addiction issues, and the impact of untreated mental illnesses and addiction disorders on the community. the organization, with its partners, has also successfully advocated for policy changes, resulting in increased support for and access to behavioral health services.
