Project healthy community (phc) is a health and wellness non-profit organization with the mission of promoting the well-being of the detroit community by providing school (and community) based nutrition, fitness, and mental health education and services for detroit kindergarteners through seniors. examples of programming are: - phc's mobile pantry is a collaboration with gleaners community food bank and forgotten harvest. the program provides approximately 100 worth of groceries to 600 families monthly and has been a staple of support in the northwest detroit community. volunteers from the community as well as corporate volunteers have helped to sustain the program through the years. - the pe-nut and linking lessons programs, funded through the michigan fitness foundation, incorporate physical activity and nutritional education into their in-class interventions, actively engaging students in their health over the 5-8 week-long program. the program is utilizing the usda approved "health
