To prepare, promote and present events, programs and performances showcasing the musical and spiritual legacy of John Coltrane; to continue and expand educational outreach programs that foster personal growth and promote achievement of excellence among elementary and secondary school-aged children in Boston and surrounding areas through exposure to creative improvisational music rooted in African American traditions; to expose community members of all ages to the legacy of African American musicians and the artistry of jazz as an African American cultural tradition; to seek and acquire the financial support necessary for the Corporation to conduct its activities; to carry on any other charitable or educational activity (within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and the regulations thereunder, as amended from time to time) that is consistent with other provisions of these Articles
