Form 990ez - organization's mission or most significant activities the primary purpose of camp providence is to provide inner city at-risk youth up to age 18 an opportunity for summer day camps and other activities in a spiritual environment offering recreation, field trips, arts and crafts, native american culture and horticultural therapy. this is accomplished by utilizing unique programs, staff, group sessions and peer counseling to teach and counsel youth in areas of stress and anger management, positive decision making, skills required for obtaining employment, building self esteem and handling responsibility. camp providence also provides a follow up program with any camper if they need someone to talk to at any time throughout the year. campers are never charged a fee and day campers are also fed one meal daily at no charge during the summer camp program. camp providence is also made available for boy scout troop camping, church and other youth group camping and other activities as needed, requested or as availability permits.Camp providence's objectives are as follows:1. to get inner city at-risk youth involved in activities which are productive towards life's goals rather than the youth being involved in useless loitering in the streets of our communities.2. to use the unique programs and staff to help relieve the tremendous stress and peer pressure encountered by inner city youth resulting from their drive to survive.3. to build self esteem and responsibility to let the youth know that someone loves and cares for them.
