The youth council for positive development (ycpd) was established in 1980 as a vehicle for the cultural enrichment and education for ages 4 -17 years. the ycpd began as the youth component of the organization for black struggle (obs). the mission is tp provide academic enrichment and positive socialization in a culturally sensitive and safe environment. the intent is to develop youth who are critical thinkers who will be engaged in the positive well-being of their community. our programs are based on ma'at values and the nguzo saba kwanzaa principles.
