Spirit Lakes Improvement Association INC

The organization's activities are all centered on the improvement of the spirit lakes area, and to encourage understanding and cooperation between the general public, groups, and agencies involved. Activities include fish stocking, studying oxygen levels in winter, checking water clarity, building and maintaining boat landings and piers, netting bullheads, acquiring aerators, building and installing fish cribs, working with the department of natural resources (dnr) at stocking and shocking the lakes for research, covering the expenses for two dnr aerators, installing and maintaining security lights at public landings, installing buoys, repairing the dam, and working with the musky club to stock muskies. These activities are done on a continuing basis, and are mostly performed by members of the organization. Activities used to raise funds include two annual fishing contests, and an annual spaghetti feed.
