This organization shall be non-partisan and non-sectarian, and its purposes shall be to unite all active and retired public employees, of the state of indiana into an association to promote their social and economic welfare through unity of action and mutual cooperation. to unite the citizens of the state of indiana to support better government to work with civic and business groups to improve the economic status of the state, as well as to keep the tax structure sound and with the least intrusiveness on the taxpayer as possible. to make state service attractive to secure and hold competent employees. to promote the highest standards of conduct and principles of good government in governmental affairs. to promote the accountability of indiana state government to the citizens of indiana, and to monitor tax legislation to insure that accountability. to promote, strengthen, and defend the merit principles in the publice service.
