Statement 1 improve the general environment and living conditions of the area encompassed by the parish of our lady of guadalupe. statement 2 reading ith special atention for esl needs. the program started in response to the covid pandemic and has continued due to interest from enrolled families. the tutoring program runs during the school year, september through may. two sessions of tutoring, one hour each, are offered tuesday, wednesday, and thursday after school. students can sign up for one, two o three sessions, with most students attending twice a week. la casa guadalupana also runs a two-week summer program, with additional academic and enrichment opportunities. the program hosts two community events, one at the end of the calendar year and one at the end of the school year - inviting students, tutors, and families to share a meal, celebrate student progress, and build relationships. volunteers are shown appreciation with a stipend and a dinner in their honor. students are assessed at the beginning of the school year in reading and math by the program manager, who uses the results to develop an individualized learning plan. each student works one-on-one with a volunteer tutor, who uses the leaming plan to guide progress, and the plan is adjusted as students improve or need additional assistance. students typically work on sight words, phonics, writing mechanics, fluency, arithmetic, math facts, and problem solving. students also practice skills using online leaming platforms and can request homework help. student scholarships through the becas program are awarded for those students who successfully graduate. statement 3 training as it relates to the skilled trades fields furthering the mission of la casa in terms of striving to increase the surrounding community of our lady of guadalupe s quality of life for it s residents. the training classes are offered from march to june. statement 4 and through fundraising. casa has successfully servied 120 student participants, 56 hours per week, from september through june. there are 12 instructors and the costs are also covered by donations and through fundraising.
