The columbus law library was formed to maintain a county law library, which included promoting legal education and culture and assisting the courts in the administration of justice and other public officers in the discharge of their public duties. effective january 1, 2010 the association no longer has the responsibility or duties for opration the law library. as part of this change, the association no longer is entitled to receive any public funds. the association's only source of income is its annual investment income. the association plans to contribute its funds to the columbus law library and/or the the columbus bar association or to some other not for profit charitable and public goods orgainzation. the association is holding funds received prior to january 1, 2010 when it operated as quasi-governmental organization exempt from taxation. the library was located in franklin county ohio (columbus, oh).
