To promote the influence and science of osteopathic medicine in ohio by establishing, extending, and maintaining high standards of hospital service; to support the objectives of the american osteopathic association's (aoa) council of hospitals; to foster communication and cooperation among ohio institutions accredited by the aoa's healthcare facilities accreditation program (hfap); to enhance public awareness of hfap accredited hospitals and foster high quality, patient-centered and cost-effective care; to review proposed hospital legislation and regulations in ohio to ensure the needs of osteopathic physicians and their patients are considered; to offer advice and information to members in order to maintain hfap hospital accreditation and to assist other ohio institutions that are interested in obtaining hfap accreditation; and to encourage the collection of osteopathic hospital statistics to support osteopathic postdoctoral education and research.
