The international rule of law consortium (irolc) improves the capacity of local legal institutions to implement reform efforts in countries around the world. Irolc supports the transformation of newly democratic societies in their efforts to attain good governance to achieve political, social, and economic success. Irolc achieves these objectives by providing in - country assistance and by conducting comparative study tours in the united states. Through its successful partnership model, irolc programs support civil society and the general public in understanding their rights and ensuring they have the necessary tools and opportunities to exercise and/or defend those rights. They also support the development of legal institutions, particularly the courts, to provide justice to citizens. Activities are designed to promote transparency in the legal and regulatory framework to increase the public trust of a functioning legal system.
