The purpose of the not-for-profit corporation shall be to advance the interests of the metals service center industry, in all ways lawful and consistent with the public interests, by (a) promoting the distribution of metal products; (b) collecting and disseminating useful statistics and information; (c) encouraging friendly discussion between persons engaged in the industry; (d) fostering improvement in the services rendered by the industry to consumers of metal products; (e) promoting reduction of costs, improvements of and development of new uses for metal products; and (f) assisting in the maintenence of sound and equitable relations between the industry and its employees, its customers, the general public and the state and federal governments.
