Common ground alliance is a memebrship organization whose mission is to encourage a sense of community and to provide social, recreational, intellectual and creative opportunities for persons with brain injuries and their families, and to support long term wellness and quality of life for persons living with and affected by brain injury. an array of activities are offered (events, workshops, groups) each month, and members are encouraged and invited to attend. activities include (but not limited to) creative arts workshops, movement/exercise classes, discussion groups, lectures and movie nights, monthly activities for physical, cognitive and emptional wellness. structured groups are held on average of two evenings per week and 1-2 weekend days per month for members. groups include tai chi, yoga, writing, creative arts, game nights and computer skill groups. the largest expense is for rental costs. activity fees are for monthly community outings scheduled for group members and their families to promote community reintegration. these include museum trips, movies, sporting events, picnics etc. expenses include admission fees, permit costs etc for these activities.
