The organization's mission is to promote, advance and improve the profession of treating adults suffering frommental illness through counseling and therapy, and to educate the public and government about the profession. The organizations activities include the following: 1.create educational programs, resources, and development opportunities for the profession. 2.create community outreach and eucational programs to educate the public about the breadth, societal importance, and economic value of the profession at both statewide and local community level. 3.create and support programs which educate and advocate fair policy making for the profession at all levels of government. 4.consider working with other organizations of like charachter in the state and throughout the nation to mutually benefit the profession; and to disseminate information and provide advice & guidance to members of the profession on issues affecting the profession.
