To protect the radiation therapy industry from legislative and regulatory risk. To that end, the organization shall promote awareness, through lobbying efforts regarding the effectiveness and value of radiation therapy, distinguish radiation therapy from diagnostic imaging, highlight the importance of community based radiation therapy treatment, and protect the industry from inappropriate funding reductions.in furtherence of its exempt purposes, the organization shall participate in the following activities: (1) engage with congressional members, committees and staff regarding the value of radiation therapy, (2) educate federal agencies (e.g.centers for medicare and medicaid services) regarding appropriate payments and policies relating to radiation therapy, (3) commission objective analyses regarding the efficacy of radiation therapy, and (4) other related activities.
