The primary purpose of the Eastern Shore Reading Council is to promote literacy in three counties in Maryland; Wicomico, Somerset, and Dorchester. We have several programs to accomplish this goal. Our signature program is Books for Babies where we provide every new parent with a child born at the local hospital a book and information on the importance of early literacy development.
