Friends of moore county guardian ad litem, inc was created by local volunteers who recognize the need to support the guardian ad litem program where public funds are not provided to do so. The north carolina legislature established the guardian ad litem program in 1983, to provide representation for abused and neglected children who are before the court. Volunteers are recruited and trained to advocate for the children and are accompanied to court by an attorney provided by the program.
