The purpose of the Organization is to assist The Nature Conservancy accomplish its long-term conservation goals in California. This involves applying for public funding from various state agencies and employing the funds in the acquisition, development, rehabilitation, restoration and protection of wildlife and habitat that: (1) promotes the recovery of threatened and endangered species, (2) provides corridors linking separate habitat areas to prevent habitat fragmentation, and (3) protects significant natural landscapes and ecosystems, such as old growth redwoods and oak woodlands and other significant habitat areas, as well as open spaces. the Organization's exempt purposes also include the acquisition and restoration of riparian habitat, riverine aquatic habitat, wetlands enhancement or protection, reclamation and water conservation.
