The applied science center of innovation and excellence in homeland security research foundation corporation ("asfhs") is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to focus and accelerate the transfer of technology and ideas into market driven products and systems to solve key problems in protecting our society against a terrorist event while creating jobs in new york state.asfhs looks to create an environment for innovation by facilitating the convergence of research and technology in the public and private sectors of new york state on the issues facing the country and the state in the homeland security area. This will be accomplished by establishing an industry led center of innovation and excellence, which will function as both a central node of the innovation network and as a virtual location for linking research, development and testing assets with both users and enabling organizations and institutions.
