International Friction Pavement
There is currently no lead agency to work with manufactures, government agencies, regulators, research institutions, and other service industries to support and promote runway safety during take-off and landing. The international friction pavement association (ifpa) is a new pro-active organization, made up of manufacturers, engineers, pilots, and other interested parties that wish to improve airport safety and founded by industry leaders and experts, to assist in the development and standardization of friction pavement evaluations and techniques for the benefit of the industry and its members. Ifpa hopes to support education and research within the industry around the globe. Through its active membership participation, ifpa will strive to strengthen and foster the growth of valuable aviation and highway friction testing industries, promote continued growth of the standardization and evaluation of friction surfaces, serve as the primary advocate with state & federal agencies governing
