Middle Tennessee Medical Reserve Corps
The core mission of the middle tennessee medical reserve corps (mtmrc) is to provide an organized mechanism through which health care professionals can volunteer to prepare for and respond to large scale emergencies. They can also help strengthen our community by assisting with public health education and treatment. As a support function in times of disaster, mtmrc volunteers provide a variety of medical services to individuals requiring medical attention. The roles of mtmrc volunteers are varied and incorporate a number of responsibilities related to mass casualty response services. Volunteers may be requested to assist with triage and care of patients, help staff vaccination or mass prophylaxis clinics in the event of an infectious disease outbreak or bioterrorism event, provide assistance in an alternate care site or health care facility, etc.
