This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c) (3) of the internal revenue code of 1986 as now enacted or hereafter amended, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that also qualify as section 501(c)(3) exempt organizations. to this end, the friends of the first company governor's horse guards, inc., shall be organized and operated to preserve and enhance the historical significance the first company governor's horse guards, of the organized militia of the state of connecticut, and to supplement the budget of the organization for the care and well being of the horses and maintenance of tack, equipment and uniforms of the all volunteer troop.
