Food security is one of the core values of caf femenino foundation and the overall caf femenino program. the need for minimum food resources is even more evident as the women caf femenino coffee producers struggle to keep their families safe and provide food for daily consumption.Food shortages are common, often generated by the lack of rain not allowing them to grow their own food, which is now exacerbated by the covid-19 pandemic. the remote coffee producing communities are also in lockdown making it difficult to access basic food such as corn and rice.It is customary for the men to take other jobs outside their communities to supplement the family income during the lean months prior to coffee harvest. this year the men have returned to their community due to the state of emergency and quarantine ordered by the governments in order to control the spread of covid-19, creating financial hardships for the families.The foundation has received several requests for emergency food relief mi
