New York Public Interest Research Group Inc
Overview
Mission
The New York public interest research group nypirg, New York state's largest studentdirected research and civic engagement organization, is uniquely designed to provideexperiential learning and civic engagement opportunities for college students.
What it reported doing in 2024
Campus program: each year, students participate in and organize activities that range from non-partisan voter registration, to local service projects to assist communities in need, to coordinated statewide efforts to promote and safeguard access to affordable public education. Nypirg's campus program provided hundreds of presentations, forums, events, seminars, meetings, and workshops to thousands of college students across New York. Such efforts educated students about how to improve communication skills, participate in policy decisions, increase and improve community involvement, engage a large cross-section of their campus and local communities, conduct research, reach out to media, and organize their campus communities. Nypirg also offered non campus-based internships and statewide conferences.
