The american insurance association (aia) is a member organization, the purpose of which is to promote the economic, legislative, and public standing of its participating property and casualty insurers; to provide a forum for the discussion of problems that are of common concern to member companies; to promote the interests of such companies in every legitimate manner, consistent with the public welfare; to keep member companies informed of regulatory and legislative developments; to service the public interest through appropriate activities, including the promotion of safety and security of persons and property; to furnish other related and similar services; to enhance the public knowledge and perception of the property-casualty insurance industry; and to engage in any other lawful act or activity for which a corporation may be organized under the general corporation law of the state of delaware in furtherance of the foregoing purposes.
